Shenzhen Gas has revealed that it is becoming a shipowner as it prepares to place an order for an LNG carrier at Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding.
The Chinese gas distributor said in a regulatory filing that it plans to book an 80,000-cbm vessel at the Shanghai shipyard.
Costing $140m, the vessel will be built with membrane-type cargo tanks fitted with GTT Mark III flex cargo-containment systems.
