Shipyards saw an increase in LNG vessel orders during 2017, with deals revealing demand for a greater diversity of ship types.
Brokers' lists show 21 firm LNG newbuildings have been contracted over the past 12 months, including floating storage and regasification units and small-scale vessels.
And that total is expected to rise further this month when two orders are inked by Sovcomflot (SCF Group) and TMS Cardiff Gas for ships contracted against time charters to Total.
