Shipowners wanting to dry dock their vessels may see a crush at shipyards in the New Year as yards try to deal with the overhang of vessels delayed by the coronavirus pandemic.

Maran Gas Maritime managing director Stavros Hatzigrigoris said his company has had to postpone the dry-docking of its LNG carriers as yards and countries have locked down.

Speaking at a Capital Link’s online shipping forum Hatzigrigoris said the quarantines have affected the travelling of service engineers for ships and spare parts are also a problem.
