A pair of three-year-old LNG carriers owned by SK Shipping and fitted with a pioneering cargo containment system have yet to return to service after being pulled back to their builder for repairs shortly after delivery.

The 174,100-cbm SK Serenity and sistership SK Spica (both built 2018) remain at the Samsung Heavy Industries yard on Geoje Island in South Korea — having logged two years offhire — where work has been continuing to find a repair solution to their Kogas-designed KC-1 containment systems.
