LNG carrier owner Tokyo Gas has established an LNG trading company to boost its LNG trading volume to 5m tonnes a year by 2030.

The new company — TG Global Trading (TGT) — will start with an initial staff of about 10 people, three of which will be based in Singapore.

“Global LNG demand is expected to increase for the long-term, though the coronavirus pandemic has dented demand in the short term,” Tokyo Gas senior managing executive officer Shinichi Sasayama said.
