UK headquartered shipbroker Simpson Spence Young is buying independent Danish broker Bidsted & Co.
SSY said it has agreed terms to acquire Bidsted which has chartering and S&P expertise focused on the Danish and Far Eastern dry cargo charterers, operators and shipowners.
Bidsted was founded in 1940 and is one of the last few remaining independent shipbrokers in Copenhagen.
The company's 15 staff will be remaining in the Danish capital, although individuals may spend time at other SSY offices globally.
