Oil companies around the world face a £51m ($67m) levy to help pay for a spill from a small 45-year-old Greek tanker that seriously polluted four kilometres (2.5 miles) of Saronic Gulf coastline.

A plan to call £26m in March and the balance of £25m at some later date is to be put to a meeting of the International Oil Pollution Compensation (IOPC) Funds to be held in 10 days' time.
