The contract to place the huge reinsurance programme that stands behind the protection-and-indemnity clubs’ ability to offer cover running into billions of dollars is to go out to tender for the first time.
There has been pressure for a full review of the broking arrangements for years but the programme, providing $3bn of cover, has been handled by Miller Insurance Services for more than 60 years.
