The American Club's shipowner members will pay a minimum 12.5% general increase in premium at next February's policy renewal.
The move is in line with the other members of the International Group of P&I Clubs, many of which are seeking similar increases to correct underwriting losses.
A surge in coronavirus-related crew claims, and continuing high levels of International Group pool claims, have prompted P&I insurers to raise their rates.
