D'Amico takes chair at Standard Club

Italian owner will take over from Rod Jones in January, with Nicolas Hadjioannou assuming new post.

Cesare d’Amico is set to take on the chairmanship of the Standard Club from January.

The Italian shipwoner will assume the seat from Rod Jones, who is retiring from CSL Group.

The move, first reported by TradeWinds this summer, comes alongside the appointment of Nicolas Hadjioannou of Alassia Newships Management as joint deputy chairman.

Jeremy Grose, chief executive of the Standard Club, says d’Amico has been a committed member of the board, serving as deputy chairman for over three years.
