A large part of the Iranian fleet was on the move at this week’s renewal of protection-and-indemnity cover, with the West of England Club emerging as the beneficiary.
The reluctance of many banks to handle Iranian transactions led to the National Iranian Tanker Co (NITC) and Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Lines (IRISL) deciding to sail away from Steamship Mutual and the Standard Club.
