The UK’s International Transport Intermediaries Club (ITIC) has managed to save a ship manager a lot of money in a row over legacy defects on a ship.
The insurer said it had successfully resolved a $6m claim for only a fraction of the original demand.
The "complex case" highlights the risks ship managers face from legacy vessel issues, ITIC added.
