Larger casualties hitting the protection-and-indemnity (P&I) clubs appear to be rising, with nine incidents notified to the International Group claims pool so far this year.
Seven months into the current policy year, it looks as though there will be heavier pool claims than last year, although much will turn on the eventual outcome of salvage and other operations to mitigate losses.
