The International Union of Marine Insurance (IUMI) has attracted a near record 500 underwriters from around the globe to its annual meeting in Toronto starting today.
As they came together they were still trying to understand the potential impact of drone attacks on Saudi refineries over the weekend.
While the attacks may not have immediately affected shipping insurance rates they are another factor to consider in a worsening geopolitical scene which is one of the main subjects of this year’s gathering.
