West of England has completed its acquisition of a major stake in Nordic Marine Insurance from Finland's Alandia.
It is understood that Alandia held a 44.5% shareholding in the delay insurance provider.
Alandia and the West of England, the London-based protection and indemnity mutual, reached an agreement earlier this year, but the deal depended on clearance by the Swedish financial authorities.
