A Bangladesh government ship surveyor has been arrested in a bribery case.

The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) held Mirza Saifur Rahmahas, of the department of shipping, in Dhaka on Monday morning.

He was alleged to have accepted a BDT 200,000 ($2,370) or BDT 300,000 bribe relating to a vessel survey, local press reported, citing ACC officials.

The probe was led by ACC director Akhter Hossain.
