Bouchard Transportation says it has begun clearing up its financial issues.

The century-old company is the subject of a $6m-plus barrage of lawsuits over unpaid bills and missed pay cheques stemming from financial issues brought on by a 2017 explosion on board one of its barges.

But according to letters from chief executive Mort Bouchard obtained by TradeWinds, the Long Island, New York, company this month secured the financing necessary to begin settling its debts.
