Global law firm Clyde & Co is welcoming back former lawyer Nicholas Lum as a partner.

It said the Ince disputes specialist will re-join its Shanghai team next month.

Lum is an Ince partner in the Chinese city and formerly head of the Singapore office’s China Practice Group.

He was at Clyde for five years from the formation of its Shanghai base in 2006.

Ik Wei Chong, Asia managing director at Clyde, said: "We are pleased to be welcoming Nicholas back to Clyde & Co as a partner, which speaks volumes of both our firm and culture.

"Nicholas will spearhead our cross-border dispute resolution efforts from our China offices, and spend significant time in Singapore, working with our team across South East Asia."

He added: "His deep understanding of the Chinese business environment and international background, combined with experience in international arbitration and complex cross-border litigation, further strengthen our offering in Asia."

Its Singapore office has added two lawyers in recent weeks.

Senior associates Cornelia Kunze and Paul Collier transferred from Germany and London respectively.

Earlier this month, former Ince managing associate Corin Ricketts joined rival Watson Farley & Williams (WFW) in Singapore.

And in August, seven lawyers left Ince in Monaco to join HFW's new office in the principality.
