A judge has thrown out a settlement agreement between 276 seafarers allegedly forced to work on a Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line and the company, potentially putting it on the ropes.
US district judge Beth Bloom reportedly called the $875,000 fund agreed to in September by the seafarers and the Miami cruise outfit "wholly inadequate", according to the Miami Herald, as it failed to fully compensate crew for their forced labour and false imprisonment claims.
