German shipowner Bertram Rickmers is behind orders in China for six feeder containerships as he rebuilds his fleet with family money after Rickmers Holding filed for insolvency.
TradeWinds can reveal that a privately held Bertram Rickmers’ company called Asian Spirit Steamship Co has taken four units of an original six firm order for 1,162-teu boxships placed by project initiator MarLink Project Management at Fujian Mawei Shipbuilding.
