CMA CGM's previously announced acquisition of Maersk Line's Brazilian subsidiary Mercosul Line closed today.
CMA CGM and Maersk in mid-June announced a binding agreement whereby the French boxship owner would acquire Mercosul, which operates four 2,500-teu to 2,800-teu ships and employs approximately 290 people.
The deal was subject to Brazilian regulatory approval and the closing of Maersk's Hamburg Sud acquisition, both of which have now been finalised, said the AP Moller-Maersk subsidiary.
