Several liner operators are pushing back delivery of their largest containerships ahead of a record number of newbuildings being delivered this month, says Alphaliner.

Cosco Shipping and Yang Ming Line are among the carriers that have pushed back deliveries of their largest newbuildings in the 14,000-teu to 21,000-teu range from this calendar year to the next, the analyst says.

Cosco is believed to have deferred 10 of 28 containerships in this category, while Yang Ming has also delayed three 14,000-teu ships in its vessel pipeline to 2019.
