Wan Hai Lines, an intra-Asia player, is planning to acquire 32,000 teu of dry containers for $57.1m.

According to an exchange filing, the Taiwan-listed container carrier’s board has approved a plan for the container purchases to be carried out by Po-Ting Chen at a later date.

The acquisition plan emerges after Wan Hai inked orders worth $900m for up to 28 container vessels to be built in Japan and China in November.
