A wood chip carrier has grounded at the port of Hachinohe in north west Japan and suffered structural damage.

The 49,549-dwt Crimson Polaris (built 2006) is listed as owned by Mi-Das Line, a shipowning subsidiary of Imabari-based shipping company Doun Kisen.

The vessel is listed as under the commercial management of Japan’s NYK Line.
