A new joint venture featuring MSea Group and Scorpio Tankers has agreed a deal to buy the methanol and conventional tanker fleet of Sweden's Marinvest.

Clean Sea Transport (CST) also involves new US private equity fund Arkview Capital and aims to drive decarbonisation in shipping.

No price has been revealed for the nine vessels, which comprise five dual-fuel MR methanol carriers built between 2016 and 2021, including a recently delivered newbuilding, and four ice-class 1A LR1 tankers dating from 2008 and 2009.
