US lawmakers have proposed legislation to clear up the Covid-19-driven traffic jam of container ships travelling between the US and China, but one shipping analyst isn’t putting much faith in it.

On 8 December, the US House of Representatives sent an Ocean Shipping Reform Act to the Senate for approval that would, among other things, report cargo data to the Federal Maritime Commission.
