Italy’s MSC Group has signed up for four 3,100-lane-metre ropax newbuildings at Guangzhou Shipyard International.
Each will be fitted with 303 cabins and will be able to accommodate 1,500 passengers.
MSC did not disclose the cost. It said the contract originates from an order with Fratelli Onorato Armatori announced in 2019, but that several technical details are different under the new deal.
