Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries has added three neo-panamax container ship newbuildings to its strong orderbook.

The Mokpo-based shipyard has inked a newbuilding contract worth KRW 427bn ($355m). The deal involves three LNG dual-fuel 7,900-teu newbuildings to be delivered in the second half of 2024.

Industry sources have linked the boxship order to Idan Ofer’s Eastern Pacific Shipping. They said the trio were optional vessels that the diversified shipping company secured when it placed an order for three ships there in January.
