Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering (KSOE) has raked in orders for nine newbuildings from two shipping companies.

In a regulatory filing, the South Korean shipbuilding group put the total value of the two contracts at KRW1.56trn ($1.3bn).

KSOE did not disclose the identity of the companies behind the contracts. But it said a European company has ordered three LNG carrier newbuildings to be delivered by 2025 while a "Latin American shipper" booked six container ships for delivery by 2024.
