US LPG carrier owner Navigator Holdings has added experienced gas executive Anita Odedra as a non-executive director.

The former Angelicoussis Group manager is currently senior vice president of LNG marketing and trading at US producer Tellurian.

Navigator chairman Dag von Appen said: “We look forward to welcoming Dr Odedra to Navigator’s board and to benefiting from her considerable industry experience.”

“During this exciting time for Navigator, Dr Odedra will be an extremely valuable contributor to the company’s board of directors.”

Odedra was executive vice president in charge of LNG and oil freight trading for Angelicoussis, following a role as vice president for shipping and commercial operations at Cheniere.

Before that, she spent 19 years at BG Group, working across exploration, production, trading, marketing, business development, commercial operations and shipping.

She finished as BG’s VP of global shipping.

Odedra also sits on the board of Belgian tanker giant Euronav.

She told TradeWinds in 2018 that leaving Angelicoussis’ Maran Gas was prompted by a family move to the US.

Odedra, who said she had never imagined working for a shipowner, described Maran Gas as a “fantastic company to work for” and that she was sad to be leaving.

Leading voice

A well-known voice in the LNG industry, Odedra joined the Greek shipowner in 2016, working in London.

The move to Tellurian brought her back to work with former colleagues from her previous jobs.

She worked with Tellurian co-founder Martin Houston at BG.

Odedra started work with ExxonMobil in 1997 as a geophysicist.
