GTT, a French membrane containment system designer, has come up with a large bunker tank solution for a VLCC that would allow such vessels to use LNG as a fuel while operating on all existing long-range trades.

Speaking at a webinar, GTT head of business development Alexandre Tocatlian said the current type-C LNG bunker tank design can only offer 6,000-cbm to 7,000-cbm of capacity, which covers the Middle East-to-Asia trades and reduces the flexibility of the dual-fuel vessels.
