Capital Product Partners (CPLP)’s profits doubled in the second quarter after it expanded its LNG fleet.

The US-listed owner’s net profits jumped to $20.4m for the three months to the end of June compared with $10m in the corresponding period last year, excluding a vessel sale.

Chief executive Jerry Kalogiratos said the increase was “primarily as a result of our entry in the LNG shipping sector”.
