Maersk, Mitsui join to push for methanol bunkering hub in Singapore

The two companies, plus ABS, intend to conduct a bunkering operation in the first half of next year

Maersk Oil Trading is linking with Mitsui & Co and ABS to develop a methanol bunkering hub in Singapore.

The AP Moller-Maersk subsidiary, Mitsui & Co, its Mitsui & Co Energy Trading Singapore and the US-based classification society announced on Tuesday an agreement to conduct a study on methanol bunkering logistics in the city-state, as the boxship giant moves to source the fuel for its decarbonisation push.
