Maritime Strategies International (MSI) has suggested tanker markets are showing signs of bottoming out but warned of downside risks from high crude prices and a global economic slowdown.

With heavy scrapping, restrained newbuilding orders, broadly benign macroeconomic conditions and positive disruption from the IMO 2020 regulations, MSI’s base case scenario in its latest quarterly tanker market outlook shows earnings will improve next year with further upside in 2020.
