The embattled cruise industry is staying afloat against relentless coronavirus headwinds, but its future remains foggy amid a perfect storm that seems far from over, analysts say.

In a matter of weeks, the pandemic has taken the once-booming, seemingly invincible sector with limitless coffers to its knees amid onboard outbreaks, cancelled voyages and shattered earnings.

The industry's "Big Three" — Carnival Corp, Royal Caribbean Cruises and Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings — have stopped sailing and shored up billions in financing against the virus, but their outlook is still quite uncertain, Infinity Research analyst Assia Georgieva said.
