A first shipment of LNG from a cargo sold to the developers of the new Myanmar import facility has been offloaded from a large carrier onto a smaller vessel in what looks set to become a repeat operation off Malaysia.

Ship tracking data and those familiar with the operation said the 19,474-cbm Surya Aki (built 1996) took on a cargo in a ship-to-ship (STS) transfer from the 162,000-cbm Golar Kelvin (built 2015) which is now anchored slightly to the north west of Malacca.
