FTI Group, Germany’s fifth-largest tour operator, has pulled the plug on its cruise subsidiary as part of a group-wide restructuring in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

Details of the company’s organised culling of FTI Cruises and several other travel-related subsidiaries were announced to German travel media on Thursday.

FTI Cruises’ only ship, the 9,600-gt, 420-passenger Berlin (built 1980), will be sold.
