Oslo-listed American Shipping Co is bullish on the US Jones Act tanker market as older ships are scrapped and charter rates rise.

The product carrier owner said US players have brought four MR vessels out of warm layup in recent weeks as a sign of market recovery.

Only four MRs remain stacked, but American Shipping expects this number to be further reduced into next year on the back of a global economic recovery and tightening energy markets.
