Offshore support vessels have just suffered one of 2017’s largest month-on-month declines in drilling rigs, the crucial demand generators for the sector.

All of the seven tracked global regions had fewer rigs at work in November than in October, according to the latest monthly update US oil-services company Baker Hughes Inc (BHI).

Additionally, November’s fall of 10.1% follows the year’s largest rise.
