Harvey Gulf International Marine did not face “any pressure” to restructure because of about $170m in debt repayments due in June, according to chairman and chief executive Shane Guidry.

The main reason for declaring Chapter 11 last week was to put the private US offshore owner on “a level playing field” with competitors that have restructured and far ahead of those that have not, Guidry told TradeWinds this week.
