Oslo-listed Subsea 7 has added to its order backlog with a "sizeable" contract in Egypt.

The OSV company said the deal, worth between $50m and $150m, will see six new wells connected for Burullus Gas Company's West Delta Deep Marine Phase development project.

Project management and engineering work has already started at Subsea 7's offices in Cairo and Paris.

Fabrication of subsea structures and spools will be carried out at Petrojet's yard near Alexandria in Egypt.
