Dutch shipowner Acta Marine has won a deal for a service operation vessel (SOV) to help complete France's first large offshore wind farm.

Contractor GE Renewable Energy has chartered the 89-loa, 120-passenger Acta Auriga (built 2018) for mechanical completion and commissioning at the Saint-Nazaire site from the second quarter of 2022.

The ship will work 12 km off the coast as technicians finalise construction of 80 6-MW Haliade turbines, with 150-metre rotors, for an installed capacity of 450 MW.
