US offshore wind might seem like it is in a bind, but proponents believe US ingenuity will see the industry reach its ambitious goals.

Speaking at TradeWinds' Jones Act Offshore Wind Vessel Forum on Tuesday, Rystad Energy's head of offshore wind Alexander Flotre suggested there could be issues securing the ships necessary to construct the 30 GW of electricity generation capacity President Joe Biden wants by 2030.

Flotre said the US was an "immature" region that needs infrastructure for the industry built up.
