Belgian owner CMB’s Windcat unit is teaming up with energy company Eneco to develop hydrogen fuelling solutions for the offshore wind sector.
The companies announced a partnership to explore emissions reductions from crew transfer vessels (CTVs).
Under the agreement, Eneco will also charter a Windcat 32 CTV over five years, while additional vessels may also be used.
The ship became operational this month. It will be customised to Eneco’s needs through the installation of an IMO Tier III engine featuring selective catalytic reduction to radically reduce NOx emissions.
