An elderly MISC floating storage and offloading (FSO) unit has been offloaded for demolition.
The 100,000-barrel-per-day, 63,000-dwt FSO Cendor (built 1983) was sold as is in Malaysia, with no price reported, brokers said.
It is set for a green recycling yard, but is expected to need towing.
The unit was converted from a panamax in 2006.
Meanwhile, Bangladeshi breakers will get their hands on the 18,476-lwt, 149,000-dwt Korea Shipping Corp capesize Dangjin (built 1995) at $375 lwt, or $6.93m.
This indicates a firming of levels since the end of October, from about $335 per lwt.
Demolition broker Ed McIlvaney said: "The market continues to be performing on a low-ley basis with only a limited number of sales being reported which include a variety of offshore units."
