Manager V.Group has signed a contract with ADNOC Logistics & Services (ADNOC L&S) to provide crew management for its 93-ship offshore vessel fleet.

To enable it to handle the business, it has opened a new office in Abu Dhabi, where ADNOC is based.

Allan Falkenberg, managing director of crew management at V.Group, said: “We committed to ADNOC L&S that we would set up a team and be ready to provide crew management services for its fleet within 90 days, and I am proud to say we delivered.”

A stabilisation period will run until the end of 2019.

After that, the V.Group office will start regular operations - and then plans to expand its shipmanagement and support services in the region.

Nick Fisher, deputy CEO of ADNOC L&S, added: “The successful opening of our new Abu Dhabi office is the culmination of a great deal of hard work by colleagues across the group, and demonstrates just what we can achieve when we combine the expertise and resources across our business."

Last week, V.Ships Leisure said it would manage Kjell Inge Rokke's $350m new research and expedition vessel.

The 16,000-gt Research Expedition Vessel (REV) will be the largest such ship ever built, more than twice the length of most others.
