The port charges proposed by US President Donald Trump targeting China-linked shipping will affect 98% of all liner calls to the country, according to the World Shipping Council.
The proposed additional fees for any ship docking in the US if it is Chinese-owned, or part of a fleet that includes China-built vessels, would have a massive impact, according to the liner trade body’s chief executive Joe Kramek.
