Finnish marine technology giant Wartsila has extended a cruiseship service agreement with Royal Caribbean to 2028.

The company signed a 10-year deal in 2013.

The company is "optimising maintenance efficiency", providing spare parts, workshop services and preferred technical assistance for 46 vessels.

The new five-year extension covers 196 engines.

The largest portion of Royal Caribbean's fleet is equipped with Wartsila’s condition-monitoring technology, which transmits real-time information about engine condition to shore.
