A Carnival-owned passengership rescued 11 seafarers aboard a fish carrier in the Mediterranean Sea off of Greece's Peloponnese.

The 92,720-dwt Costa Luminosa (built 2009) was sailing south of the Peloponnese at around midnight Tuesday when it received a request for intervention from the Hellenic Coast Guard.

Carnival said the 2,887-dwt Kilic I (built 1986) was in "serious distress due to a fire onboard", endangering the lives of 11 seafarers on the Kilic Holding-owned vessel.
