Norway’s richest person, John Fredriksen, has lost an estimated NOK 10bn ($1.1bn) in fortune over the last year, according Kapital magazine.

The 76-year-old shipping tycoon lost heavily on his salmon farming company Mowi, but he still has a net worth of NOK 104m, which makes him far richer than number two person on the list.

Fredriksen is a Cypriot citizen but has strong ties to Norway, and some 70 to 80 people are employed in his Seatankers office in Oslo.
